Cloud Security Architect Financial Services

We are looking for a Cloud Security Architect to support a financial services client in Germany. This is a remote-first role with occasional travel (every 2–3 weeks) to Dortmund or Hamburg. You will work in the EMEA timezone and collaborate with stakeholders on secure cloud architecture and governance within regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Design secure cloud architecture with a focus on financial services industry (FSI) compliance

• Implement security controls, IAM policies, and data protection frameworks on GCP

• Define and audit cloud security posture across multiple environments

• Collaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams to align on security best practices

• Support governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) initiatives

• Lead security reviews and provide recommendations to clients and internal teams

• Engage regularly with client stakeholders to align security strategy with business needs
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud security or enterprise architecture

• Deep understanding of security principles in cloud environments (preferably GCP)

• Experience working in regulated industries, ideally financial services

• Knowledge of IAM, network security, data protection, and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, BAIT)

• Ability to define and implement cloud security policies and procedures

• Strong stakeholder communication skills in an international context

• Fluent in English (spoken and written)

• Willingness to travel to Dortmund and/or Hamburg every 2–3 weeks

• Professional Cloud Architect (PCA) or relevant cloud security certification required
