We are expanding our share dealing and investing offering by incubating a brand-new business venture, with the ambition to build an app-first offering that will reimagine the world of investing. With dedicated teams operating in a start-up fashion, we are looking for TypeScript Developers with AWS/Lambda to join the Engineering team and work alongside peers in mobile and architecture.

Senior TypeScript Developers with AWS/Lambda, come and join the game-changers!

Work with the BFF teams that are developing on our AWS gateway, building underlying services, and overseeing the integrations with third parties. This is a unique opportunity that will give the successful candidate a rare experience to design and build services and integrations that support our mobile experience and ensure they run seamlessly in Production.

What you will do:

As a Senior TypeScript Engineer within the BFF/Trade Execution Team, you'll take ownership of your work from elaboration to delivery. You'll take requirements, develop and extend solutions, test them, and work with our stakeholders to deliver them.

This will include:

• Designing and coding solutions to meet these requirements
• Delivering high-quality support and assurance as the work is rolled out
• Taking ownership of projects end to end, whilst learning and innovating
• Overseeing the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions
• Ensure that teams engage in the roadmap process and deliver to their commitments
• Interacting with other Senior Developers and Architects to analyse needs and requirements
• Support the TL by upholding high standards of modern engineering practices, quality, and attainment
• Collaborating with other cross-function teams and their Team Leads whilst making use of the Agile development life cycle
• Guiding and mentoring team members, managing project timelines and resources
• Ensuring adherence to best practices and security standards, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable and efficient cloud architectures

Who you are:

An experienced Senior Developer with 6+ years of coding experience, most recently in TypeScript who has worked in an AWS environment (ideally with Lambda) and possesses an excellent understanding of APIs, Gateway, and building Restful services. Developer evangelists with a focus on effective practices such as pair programming, TDD, CI/CD, etc. are critical to our build and must enjoy working in fast-paced mission-focussed environments, with fast-changing priorities.

Must have skills:

• Proven Senior Development TypeScript experience.
• Broad AWS experience that is sufficient to collaborate with our Architect and build components effectively, specifically with Serverless technologies. Note, that Kubernetes is not required.
• Experience with most of the following AWS components (or significant depth in a few): API Gateway, Lambda, SAM, ECS, EC2, SNS, S3, CloudFront, Dynamo DB, CloudWatch, Kinesis, and SQS.
• Experience of DevSecOps concepts
• Experience in Agile development methodologies and release management techniques
• Experience using telemetry and observability to troubleshoot production issues
