Senior Mobile QA Developer

As a Senior Mobile QA Developer, you will be part of a team of mobile engineers that builds out the technology that powers our retail brokerage business and supports our other business initiatives. From day one you will be testing our, iPhone, iPad, Android and applications. We care about the speed and stability of our customer-facing applications we build. Our architecture is consistently evolving as our business grows and we face different technical challenges, but always with a focus on practicality and performance. 

The role will need you to draw on your experience in approaches such as Continuous Delivery and understand how and when to use diverse testing techniques to deliver high quality software that accurately represents the business domain. You will be comfortable working closely with both business and technical stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Technology Stack: XCUITest, Espresso, Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, Postman, Jenkins, Github Actions, Git.

What you will do

• Engage with the Quality Assurance team to rigorously test new features and conduct regression tests across our suite of software applications.
• Lead the development and maintenance of our automated testing suite, focusing on XCUITest for iOS and Espresso for Android frameworks.
• Develop new automated tests using Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android, refining and extending the test automation coverage.
• Manage the configuration of GitHub Actions jobs to streamline our CI/CD pipeline.
• Collaborate with Business and IT teams to ensure a deep understanding of requirements and guarantee comprehensive test coverage.
• Identify, document, and oversee defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Make significant contributions to the tastytrade quality assurance strategy.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum development team, promoting continuous improvement.

What you’ll need for this role

• 5+ years of professional experience in writing test automation, specifically with Java/Kotlin for Android (Espresso) and Swift/Objective-C for iOS (XCUITest).
• Profound knowledge of modern QA methodologies, including UAT and System Testing, with an analytical problem-solving approach.
• Ability to use the necessary tools to debug software issues and demonstrate an understanding of software testing techniques.
• A solid grasp of CI/CD process flows, proficient in managing Jenkins or similar tools.
• Experience with cross-platform testing, focusing exclusively on native UI testing.
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban) and expertise in building and maintaining test automation frameworks using Swift and Kotlin.
• Familiarity with REST API testing, microservices, and REST API Testing concepts.
• Working knowledge of JIRA and an eagerness to learn more about automation, QA, financial markets, trading, and beyond.
• Degree level education in a relevant or related subject.
