This role will sit within Group Financial Crime Detection and Investigations - Digital Enablement, Future Design Team as Business Architect. The Business Architect will play a key role of the Financial Crime Detection & Investigations Value Stream (VS) and will focus on developing our current and future business architecture collateral blueprints and roadmaps for the Value Stream (VS), as well as a focus on operating model design.
It will also explore a range of strategic and regulatory initiatives leveraging robust business architecture and agile ways of working. You will work closely with the Financial Crime Detection and Investigation Sub-value streams and the wider Risk & Compliance Business Architecture team.
What you’ll do
- Create & maintaining the Future State Architecture (FSA) for the VS, owning the business architecture elements and ensuring the data and technology parts are traceable to business strategy and objectives.
- Operate FSA governance for the VS, as well support oversight of business designs against that FSA on an ongoing basis.
- Define and co-ordinate business architecture designs for material initiatives in the scope of the VS, articulating impacts to services, capabilities, processes, controls, and team.
- Consistently apply Business Architecture tools, techniques, and best practices, in line with industry, Group and R&C guidance.
- Act as the “good design" control owner for Change Execution Risk at VS level, and be responsible for the VS being compliant with Architecture and Design standards part of HSBC’s Change Framework.
- Owns and maintain the taxonomy of services, capabilities, and processes under the VS and Work with the sub-value streams to drive the knowledge of efficiency and effectiveness of Financial Crime processes.
- Work closely with primary change programmes to ensure that architecture, technology, and transformation services are appropriately aligned, including future state definition and Collaborate with colleagues across the Financial Crime while building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders including in the relevant lines of Business.
What you need to have to succeed in this role:
- Expertise and experience in translating business strategy, into a structured set of impacts on services, business capabilities, processes, controls, teams, models, data, and technology assets.
- Enterprise analysis experience working across a function, areas, and Sub-value streams to understand the overarching business architecture, operating model, and processes.
- Experience in creating operating model designs, business architecture blueprints and roadmaps.
- Experience of process modelling and optimisation, understanding current state and proposing future state opportunities and designs.
- Ability to author quality collateral to feed into design discussion forums, adjusting the level of detail as required for the audience.
- The ability to identify and influence key stakeholders, and the confidence to constructively challenge them where needed.
Nice to have:
- Experience in designing business architecture taxonomies (services, capabilities, etc.)
- Experience in applying Design Thinking
- Knowledge of and experience in Experience in Service Design
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Be technology architecture literate
- Awareness or experience of automation technologies including (e.g., RPA, NLP, NLG & Gen AI)
