Your career opportunity 

The Ellipse IT Project Architect is accountable for assurance of the Ellipse design working for the Design Lead. Project outputs  will form part of a technology-based change programme, delivery of a technology-only Programme, or may be standalone. The  scope of project is Regional with a focus on Germany and will span multiple HSBC business areas. 

What you’ll do 

• Contribute to the Ellipse architecture and design activities 

• To be an active participant in assuring the Ellipse design as part of the Central Ellipse Design team • Promote collaboration and success across the broader delivery design teams, building stakeholder buy-in around the  design 

• Supporting design teams to manage design proactively, balancing scope, schedule, resourcing, dependencies,  communications and budgets 

• Providing design guidance on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the  change portfolio across HSBC 

• Enforcing process discipline and improvements in areas of expertise, such as disciplined agile software delivery,  production support processes, or continuous DevOps pipelines development 

• Ensuring adherence to standard controls and drives teams to achieve compliance and framework, capability  management, security controls and technology architecture designs 

• Establishing effective governance and controls, in line with HSBC Transformation and delivery Frameworks

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Excellent knowledge of design methodologies and Architecture frameworks 

• Extensive knowledge of IT software solutions 

• Proven experience in an IT environment and/or an IT role  

• Excellent understanding of how technology adds value to the business and ultimately the end customer  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly build relationships with key stakeholders 

• Communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for IT investments and  alternatives in business language 

• Strong commercial orientation, appreciating the business usage of systems developed  

• Excellent planning and organization skills 

• Be able to enforce the quality policies and processes used in the HSBC Group  

• Awareness of DevOps and Agile principles 

• Awareness of Cloud Technologies will be valued 

• Awareness on data transformation and full cycle of data integrity checks will be valued  

• ACP (Agile certified professional) certification would be an added advantage.
