    We have a unique opportunity for you to join our team as Finance Analyst. You will support the CTO Head of Commercial Operations, reporting financial performance management across the Global CTO Technology Organisation.

    The role has a global remit and you will be a key member of the CTO Commercial Operations team who will be based in the UK / HK. You will assist with consolidating, verifying and reporting monthly CTO outturn globally and providing inputs for a monthly pack analyzing the month and year to date financial position at L4 service level which includes commentary and variance analysis to FRP (Financial Reporting Plan) target and latest forecast.  You will play a key part in the annual FRP target setting process providing insight, financial analysis and support to the CTO OpCo, Commercial Management and Business Management teams to understand the structure of the annual target and also ensure that accurate targets and forecasts are loaded into and managed in the IT Planning tools eg ITP, Pioneer, Discover paying particular attention to transformation benefits.

    As CTO Global Finance Analyst you will be responsible for reporting on the delivery of cost saving benefits across multiple transformation programmes being delivered by CTO and comparing actuals to target. You will also assist in understanding and communicating CTO rates, supporting discussions across the ServCo entities on any over or under recoveries. 

    The jobholder will be required to build strong and effective relationships across a complex senior stakeholder framework which includes the CTO Head of Commercial Operations, CTO Global COO, CTO Business Management teams and Group Technology COO teams providing Business Analytics and insight, whilst at the same time providing constructive challenge and an independent perspective.  You will play a crucial role in understanding the HSBC Global strategy in the context of the Technologies strategy, with a particular focus on increasing efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of transparent and commercially focused analytics and management of transformation benefits.



    What you’ll do

    • Tracking of transformation benefits
    • Stakeholder management across CTO so all relevant parties are aware of benefits and the impact of these to the cost base
    • Tracking of CTO rates, supporting discussions across ServCo entities regarding any over or under recoveries.
    • Direct Cost Management and Reporting to CTO Global Finance Manager.
    • Business Management Team Support.
    • Assurance that the ITP forecasting tool accurately reflects agreed targets and spend forecasts.
    • Process Improvement in an agile environment.



    What you need to have to succeed in this role

    • Proven ability to prioritize competing demands, excellent analysis and problem solving skills
    • Proven ability to distil complex and varied data into information that can be utilized to manage and measure performance.
    • Excellent written / verbal communication and presentation skills, excellent influencer and stakeholder management skills
    • Delivery-focused with ability to pay attention to detail and ensure tasks are completed on time and to the required levels of quality.
    • Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with business heads, senior managers, third party consultants, technical experts across the whole department and business users.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with proven experience working in a matrix management structure and building and maintaining global team relationships.
    • Evidence of delivery in a similar role within a complex, global organisation and experience of managing the costs for IT infrastructure in a Banking organisation
    • Self-starter, strong communication and interpersonal skills to a wide range of individuals and groups and at different levels of seniority
