    As an Enablement Services DevOps engineer within Engineering Foundations, you will be part of team implementing a CI/CD engineering platform as a service in AWS. This will provide CI/CD services to the Digital development community on a cloud platform, allowing us to redress issues faced with the HSBC on premise CI/CD services such as capacity, scaling, cost, chargeback, and environment consistency. Our CI/CD services are being re-architected in a cloud centric manner and deployed into our cloud platform as consumable services.

    You have the chance to be part of this migration to the cloud helping to design and deliver solutions within a complex and interesting financial enterprise environment. Your responsibilities will range from being a technical innovator, a subject matter expert, a mentor & guide, a consultant, and a trouble-shooter.



    What you’ll do

    • Manage the BAU requirements of the service and infrastructure on AWS.
    • Manage & maintain the Jenkins pipelines and dependencies associated with the binaries/tools/ plugins in place. 
    • The solution design of the service and work along with the architects to enhance the design and implement the best practices into it. 
    • Design MVPs for new solutions that to be onboarded into the service such as integrating a new feature for the service. 
    • Implement best practices into the day-to-day service maintenance and providing best of automation solutions in effortlessly maintaining the service with less manual interference. 
    • Understand various external and internal tools used and closely integrated with CloudBees CI viz. Docker, GitHub, Selenium, Browserstack, etc. 
    • Engage with the stakeholders and customers for maintaining best of standards into the service. 
    • Track the features and requirements of new developments and bug fixes with our standard pipelines and automation solutions as well as provide rotational on call support on requirement. 



    What you need to have to succeed in this role

    • Technical skills:  Ansible, Ansible Tower (AWX), AWS, Terraform, Groovy, Git, Maven, Jenkins Enterprise, CICD pipelines.
    • Knowledge of automation, orchestration, and monitoring tools.
    • Experience designing and building services in the public cloud (ideally AWS), architecting for failure.
    • Experience developing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines across multiple technology stacks as well as experience in building and configuration management.
    • Great communication - convey your thoughts, ideas, and opinions clearly and concisely face-to-face or virtually to all levels up and down stream.
    • Being comfortable following Scrum methodology and working within an agile, multidisciplinary team.
    • Ability to communicate with non-technical people.
