About the role: 

As the Full Stack Developer, you will be focused on advancing our internal and customer facing web applications using Ruby on Rails, Elixir, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, React and numerous libraries and frameworks. You will work with Agile cross-functional team of software developers who are empowered with the freedom to make decisions and try new things. This role will enable you to be hands on with development work as well as get stuck in with DevOps opportunities to manage the infrastructure in case you want to learn it.

Below you will find a list of the key duties and responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby/Elixir code.
  • Integration of data storage solutions - may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.
  • Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic.
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
  • Help maintain code quality, organisation.
  • Monitor, test and do on-going support of existing applications, as well as help developers to deploy new services inside the cluster.
  • Install regular updates and keep systems up to date.
  • Develop, test and document new system features, including writing Ruby/JS code.

About you: 

An already accomplished software engineer, you will bring proven experience and your passion for software products, proactively getting things done and  problem solving. Alongside well developed communication skills, you will have knowledge, and experience, of the following:

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Ruby on Rails along with other common libraries such as RSpec.
  • Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Hands on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Moderate understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Familiarity with concepts of MVC, ORM, and RESTful.
  • Proactive and process driven personality with high performance standards.
  • Ability to work independently across remote cross functional teams.
  • Good attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills.
  • A demonstrated track record of meeting critical tasks and milestones.

Desirable:

  • Kubernetes experience
  • Knowledge of any modern programming language (Elixir / Javascript / Python)
  • Docker
