Position Overview:

For one of our partners, we are seeking a Storage SME (Netapp) who will be responsible for Administration. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills and experience to contribute to the success of our partner organization.

Job Description

1. NAS Storage Domain
2. Backup and SAN Storage Domain
3. Business and PSS Application Teams
4. Onsite Technology Services
5. Country Technology Management
6. Operational Risk Management

Other interfacing technology teams related to storage and backup – including, but not limited to, Network, Data Centre, UNIX Platform, Windows Platform, Active Directory and Security

1. Act as the technical lead on initiatives and projects and take accountability for their delivery.
2. Act as a NAS subject matter expert, providing strong guidance and direction in all aspects of NAS design and support, asserting one’s technical authority to reach successful outcomes.
3. In-depth technical knowledge of NAS and the NetApp product suite and technologies.
4. Ensure the global NAS estate is available, performant, stable and resilient, and delivers to expected service levels.
5. Harness automation technologies wherever possible to simplify and increase efficiencies.
6. Work closely with peers in the Storage and Backup Team to engineer solutions, develop designs, new products, standards and roadmaps.
7. Perform ad-hoc capacity and performance sizing exercises, demonstrating sound judgement, and giving coherent and presentable recommendations with clearly defined outcomes.
8. Deploy, build, test and integrate new assets into production, complying with the Bank’s procedural, technical and security standards.
9. Participate in data migrations, demonstrating a sound awareness of the migration flow, prerequisites and dependencies, testing, success criteria and risk mitigation. Deliver successful migrations with zero incidents.
10. Exercise advanced troubleshooting skills when responding to incidents, including major incidents and escalations; act as the incident situation-lead to lead collaborative efforts to successful resolution.
11. Participate in the on-call rota for escalations and major incidents.
12. Oversee routines and failures but periodically participate in out of hours support to fulfil production and project needs as required.

Storage provisioning and demand management. Review and assess storage allocation requests while paying diligent consideration to operational standards/guidelines and current capacity and performance utilizations

Technical Competency Required for following skills:

NetApp Appliance / ONTAP

CIFS / NFS

Dell Isilon / PowerScale

MS SharePoint

Scripting / Coding – Python, Ansible, Shell scripting

NetApp hardware knowledge and troubleshooting

Knowledge of backup technologies
