C++ Principal Software Engineer

What's the role?

The HERE SDK provides a set of programming interfaces that enables developers to build immersive native applications while leveraging our powerful and flexible Open Location Platform.

With features such as routing, turn by turn voice guidance, search, interactive 2D and 3D vector maps and much more, we allow our customers to develop powerful location-based applications natively on different platforms like Android and iOS.

To make all of that happen, and deliver the best quality in the market, we are growing our engineering team and are searching for an excellent C++ Engineer!

As a C++ Engineer, you will be a key member of our growing SDK engineering team. This is an experienced position that requires expertise in the latest C++ standard. You are motivated to explore and deliver the best possible solutions to our customers with very high quality. You should have a strong passion for technology and a strong customer-centric product sense. You should enjoy working outside the comfort zone and love to learn new technologies.

Who are you?

Ideally, we would like you to have:

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar technical degree
• Experience working in an Agile team
• Strong level in algorithm engineering
• Strong knowledge of modern C++ and STL
• Practical experience with Kotlin
• Strong practice of object-oriented programming
• Comfort with multi-threading
• Excellent collaborative and communication skills
• Comfortable with agile development methodologies like Scrum or Kanban
• Very good command of written and spoken English

The following would add extra value to your contribution in our team:

• Knowledge of iOS programming with Swift
• Knowledge of Android programming with Java or Kotlin
• Knowledge of programming with Flutter
• Comfort with IPC
• Experience developing libraries for Android and frameworks for iOS
• Experience with cross-language bindings, e.g. JNI
• Knowledge of location-based services such as mapping, navigation, GPS
• Experience in using git as a version control system
