Python Engineer

Role Overview

We’re hiring a Senior Engineer to join a fast-paced team dedicated to building critical analytics platforms for financial risk insight and decision-making. You’ll play a pivotal role in developing systems that support large-scale computations and complex reporting needs, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and implement advanced analytics tools that enable high-throughput processing of structured financial data
• Create modular, reusable software components using Python to support risk reporting and data exploration
• Work closely with data specialists, engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver impactful solutions
• Take ownership of backend services powering analytical dashboards and risk models
• Introduce enhancements to existing systems that improve processing speed, memory efficiency, and maintainability
• Participate in design sessions, code reviews, and ongoing system optimization initiatives
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues while maintaining focus on long-term system health

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience writing high-quality Python in production environments
• Experience with Spark (building scalable and maintainable pipelines in PySpark and Scala)
• Experience with Spark Streaming (building low latency pipelines)
• Experience with Delta format (opensource Delta Lake project)
• Educational background in a technical field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics
• Strong grasp of data structures, algorithm optimization, and performance engineering
• Hands-on experience building data-intensive applications, preferably in domains involving analytics or modeling
• Ability to think critically and contribute to architectural decisions on distributed computing systems
• Familiarity with statistical computing, data pipelines, or time-series data management is advantageous
