GSK’s Pharma Supply Chain (PSC) network comprises over 35 manufacturing sites in 30+ countries, with around 25,000 employees. This is an exciting time to join us as we drive forward on our exciting Biopharma new product introductions, as well as enabling a diverse portfolio of classic and established products, some of which are over 30 years old and continue to grow (e.g Augmentin Penicillin’s).  PSC Tech is at the heart of driving the organisation forward, with an ambition to enable it to be a data insight driven organisation through world class innovative platforms and technologies.

GSK Tech is undergoing it’s own transformation by building new, advanced capabilities in Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, AI/ML, Data & Analytics, Software Engineering and Product Management. 

As Tech developer you will be part of a PSC Tech Quality and Labs team which supports LIMS systems based on StarLims, Labvantage and Labware solutions. Your main focus will be on value delivery and support of the SLIMS (Starlims) product.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Partner with the Product Manager(s) to develop, test, deploy & maintain technology and/or solutions to enable business value for GSK, operating within an Agile Product Model and DevOps principles.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations within an Agile Product DevOps model, which includes but is not limited to:
  • Application and technology design & implementation e.g. automation tools, testing tools etc.
  • UX Design & application of Design Thinking methods
  • Information/data flow design & implementation
  • Application integration selection/design & implementation
  • IT service to support end-to-end business processes
  • Development, maintenance and management of products and solutions, including the identification of gaps, risks and mitigation approaches
  • Engage with internal functions to understand the wider ecosystem that impacts the Product area. 
  • Engage with key stakeholders and end users to ensure best possible User Experience (UX) and business outcomes are achieved, escalating issues as appropriate  
  • Provide technical leadership and contribute to lifecycle management to ensure that systems continue to operate and evolve in line with the product roadmap, and technological standards. Track exceptions to standards and drive their remediation

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • You have BA/BSc degree in Engineering/Software/IT or relevant technical topic
  • You have 2 years’ experience in IT
  • You worked in teams organized based on Agile and DevOps models
  • You have experience in working and troubleshooting on Windows and Linux environments
  • You are comfortable with writing SQL queries and working with relational databases
  • You are familiar with IT service management processes

Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • You have experience with StarLims and GxP systems
  • You were part of a product-oriented team
  • You have experience of working within a matrixed organisation with multiple stakeholders to manage
  • You are familiar with network and security concepts
  • You have experience with cloud solutions (i.e. Azure)
  • You developed or implemented software products from concept to adoption
  • You have programming experience (i.e. shell scripting, Java, C#, Python)
  • You are familiar with tools like Azure DevOps, Microsoft Power Apps
  • You have experience in systems’ integration
  • You have ITIL certificate
