The Established Products portfolio consist of approximately 500 systems in use across all of R&D. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering one of the key innovation strategies (e.g., RPA to automate repeated tasks in cloud based applications and cloud platform L2 support activities, Cloud FinOps management, supporting cloud migration initiatives by providing your cloud based applications solution design expertise etc.) working with other members in the team to adopt modern technologies in supporting the Established Products ‘Simplify and Modernize’ agenda. In partnership with strategic suppliers and GSK tech colleagues, you will manage the delivery of innovation initiatives to modernize the experience for system users and improve the quality and efficiency of systems and services.
This Engineer role is a “T-Shaped” role demonstrating both depth and breadth across key engineer competencies e.g., Software Development, Testing, DevOps, Data Science/Analytics, Lifecycle Management, etc. and the ability to successfully collaborate with experts from other subject domains.

Senior Cloud Engineer
In this role you will…
- Contribute to strategies across the established product portfolio to deliver our ‘simplify and modernise’ agenda:
- Cloud Automation (Implement automated solution for cloud infrastructure management using Terraform, automating repetitive tasks performed by L2 application support teams using modern cloud-based/other third-party tools and technologies) related to L2 applications and infrastructure support activities e.g., automating applications and infrastructure access management processes and technical solutions, Data archival process automation, auto incident resolutions etc.
- Cloud FinOps Management - Analysing cloud spend and identifying, implementing solutions to optimize the spend, implementing automated solutions, implementing Power BI reporting solutions to monitor spend, cloud resources usage and capacity management, implementing alerts, automatic cost control mechanisms etc.
- Chatbot/Virtual agents’ implementation for end users (improve users support experience by implementing chatbots to answer FAQs thus eliminating support tickets and delivering on time support to users)
- Provide technical guidance to the team on cloud-based tools and technologies and other third-party tools where required to resolve technical challenges during cloud migrations and in any automation solution implementations in cloud.
- Identify and implement continual improvement opportunities to achieve application stability, auto incident resolutions, automating complex and time-consuming service operational activities
- Performs proof of concepts to prove value of automation through ROI calculations and other benefit articulations etc.
- Brings outside in expertise by continuously researching the market tools and technologies in automation space, best practices, and process improvements etc
- Ensures that technical delivery is fully compliant with GSK Security, Quality and Regulatory standards.
- Keeps relevant technical documentation up to date in support of the lifecycle plan for audits/reviews.
- Lead the team both inhouse and strategic partners where required
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, computing or relevant work experience.
- Excellent relationship management, strong influencing, and communication skills at a senior level.
- Good proven experience in cloud based ELT solutions delivery using Cloud ELT transformation tools, Cloud storage accounts, Cloud DBs, Cloud ingestions tools (Event or scheduled based), web app tools etc.
- Proven experience in implementing Data warehousing concepts
- Good hands-on experience in SQL DB/Oracle data modelling, DDL, DML scripting etc.
- Experience in any automation tools e.g., automation anywhere
- Good understanding and proven experience in Cloud tools and technologies to modernize application landscape e.g. Kubernetes clusters, containerization, VMs, serverless tools, PaaS tools etc.
- Hands on experience programming languages like Terraform, PowerShell and Python
- Hands on experience in Azure DevOps Tool, JIRA for Agile delivery management
- Agile Scrum and Kanban process understanding/experience
- ITSM tool understanding e.g., ServiceNow will be of added advantage
- Pharma Business process understanding will be of added advantage
Preferred qualifications:
