Job description

Growbots was born in Warsaw, Poland in Dec 2014. Today we have around 80 people in Warsaw (HQ, 100% product development), San Francisco and Cleveland (sales).

We connect businesses across the world using our proprietary machine learning. Looks like we are good at that - today we have 600+ clients who love the product (see what they say about us).

The product is 100% built in Warsaw where Developers, Data Scientists, Designers and Product Owners work in small teams. We take ownership (DevOps culture) and ship a lot. It's all about microservices and the newest stack everywhere you look: React, MobX, ES6, TypeScript on frontend, Python 3.5 and 3.6, Flask, Celery, SQLAlchemy on backend, Python/Go, Docker, Nomad, Consul (infra), MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, RethinkDB, BigQuery, Cassandra (databases), Python/Scala, Spark, Airflow (Data Science).

Currently, we’re looking for someone, who could help us out with the tech side of things, and make sure our platform is running smoothly. Stuff you’d be working with is quite brand-new, and there aren’t many companies in Poland that do what we do; so, not having years of experience is definitely NOT a problem.

You'll be working with a great team, helping to provision and automate modern, microservice-aware, hybrid-cloud application stack. More in details, you will:

  • think of ways of how to improve and maintain infrastructure (Nomad+Consul+Vault, Docker, Prometheus, Gitlab) running on variety of cloud providers (Google Cloud, Azure, AWS)
  • figure out how to automate repetitive tasks with appropriate tools (Terraform, Packer, Ansible)
  • help out with monitoring and alerting (Prometheus/Alertmanager/Grafana)
  • get familiar with different database engines (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra) and their respective tooling
  • get creative with how to improve backup/restore procedures
  • work on centralized logging (BigQuery)
  • and if you’re up for it, write your own code

Must-haves:

  • ability to learn quickly
  • attention to detail
  • be able to confidently use Linux as your main operating system
  • some experience doing some kind of system administrator job (during free time as a hobby is ok)
  • managing anything on a Linux box (think along the lines of: setting up basic websites using nginx, or do a backup/restore of MySQL database, set up a firewall), setting up heroku, or something on DigitalOcean, running a VPS for a Minecraft server

It would be great if you had:

  • experience with automation tools (any)
  • experience with containers (docker/rkt/lxc/whatev.)
  • working with git

What we offer:

  • possibility of real influence on the shape of the developed solutions
  • teamwork in Agile (Scrum/Kanban, daily stand-ups, planning sessions, sprints, retrospectives)
  • salary range: 8-12K on B2B + paid holiday (26 days) & sick leave
  • we support your growth - Growbots covers up to 70% costs of conferences, courses and workshops
  • flexible working hours
  • you can choose your gear
  • private medical care with Medicover (optional Family Package)
  • weekly breakfasts
  • unique industrial office in the old cheese factory in the centre of Warsaw (the Hoża street)
  • you will be proud of what you are working on! 💙
