Your role in the team
As a Senior DevOps Engineer in Krakow, you’ll be working on continuous deployment, automated rollback and failover. You’ll be working on continuous integration too, writing build / test / deploy pipelines, measuring performance and working with developers to improve it. You will take care of troubleshooting various issues in private cloud environment. You take pride in writing clean, tested, reusable code using best practice principles, following a Test-Driven Development (TDD) approach to software development, and of course working to continually improve the quality of the codebase (for the product).
You'll need to support out of hours on a rota basis, when you're up to speed and confident in your role.
Skills needed
Essential
- Experience in a DevOps / Ops role, administration of production software environment,
- Professional development experience as a software development
- Experience in troubleshooting issues in distributed systems
- Profound insight of Java 8 and functional programming
- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases and NoSQL
- Practical knowledge of Git SCM and good understanding of Git flow concepts
- Experience in building pipelines for automating of applications scaffolding, testing, building, auto-scaling and integration
- Incentive to propose improvements for the development teams (software design patterns, best practices, code styles)
- Experience with real-life deployments to any of the major cloud providers (i.e. AWS, Azure, Openstack)
- Willingness to work in the challenging, fast-paced world of betting
- Excellent English skills (written and spoken)
- Experience in / knowledge of Agile delivery principles and practices such as Scrum or Kanban
Desirable
- Experience in infrastructure provisioning with Puppet
- Understanding of Mesos and Marathon
- Experience with Brocade networking solutions
- Experience with developing in-house IaaS/PaaS solution
- Work experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef
- AWS understanding (at least Associate level of any area)
- Experience in working with developers on middleware / frontend tier
