We process 500 online Sportsbook bets per second each Saturday, that’s the same as orders processed by Amazon UK, on its busiest day of the year. Your role in the team
- Leading the development team and keeping the developers motivated
- Ensuring coding standards are maintained
- Assisting with recruitment, personal development and performance management of developers
- Designing and developing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance
- Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Writing well designed, testable, efficient code
- Ensuring designs are in compliance with specifications
- Preparing and producing releases of software components
- Supporting continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
- Skills needed
- University degree in the field of computer science, business administration, or another rigorous discipline. An advanced degree in one these fields is a plus
- Commercial Awareness/Strategy Approach
- Influencing/Relationship Management
- Experienced senior developer/dev lead who has worked in multiple development teams across different geographic locations
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Proven working experience in Java development (min. 5 years)
- Experience of developing with microservices architectures
- Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java 8 platforms
- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases
- Experience with different delivery methodologies.
- Significant experience and a successful track record of delivering and implementing complex software in a professional development organization
- Strong people leader
- Sports Betting and Gaming domain knowledge is an asset
