Job description

Minimum skills required:
  • Linux system administration
  • Apache httpd configuration and management
  • NGINX configuration and management
  • PHP-FPM configuration and management
  • DNS management
  • Ability to read and write in English

Desirable skills (not required):
  • AWS EC2
  • Firewall administration (CISCO, pfSense)
  • Magento configuration and management
  • hybris configuration and management

Duties:
  • Actively monitors existing client environments using Nagios, New Relic and other tools 
  • Performs client server maintenance tasks during specified maintenance windows
  • Troubleshoots and repairs issues with customer web sites and application performance 
  • Actively monitors and manages internal IT Helpdesk queues for internal IT support tickets 
  • Works closely with on¬duty developers to help roll out code patches and fixes 
  • Performs basic software installs and configurations on Linux servers 
  • Generates Incident reports
  • Successfully hands off tasks from one sysadmin to another during shift duty switch
  • Provides ticket updates and responses to clients through Gorilla ticketing system
  • Maintenance and support of deployment automation tools like chef, puppet, vagrant
  • Assigns and supervises task completion on client servers and ensures accurate ticket responses 
  • Communicate with managers, team leads through various means of communication: email, skype, google hangouts, mobile phone
