Test Engineer, Messages Infrastructure

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in coding, developing test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with battery, memory, or performance testing for mobile apps.
• Experience with mobile app testing.

As a test engineer in Messages Engineering Infrastructure you will deliver test plans, strategies, tools, processes, and infrastructure that enable Messages to ship reliably at scale. You will own measurement tooling for battery, memory, and performance which is critical to Message's ability to ship quickly. When new testing challenges arise across the team you will consult and provide guidance on how to leverage existing frameworks or develop new ones to ensure rigorous quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test strategies and software tools to continuously and reliably measure quality signals.
• Develop knowledge and expertise of best practices for battery, memory, and performance testing.
• Provide opinionated guidance on choice of test frameworks and tooling stacks to solve specific testing needs.
• Influence release processes to optimize the continuous delivery of Messages builds to users.
