Job description
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Designing, assessing and implementing monitoring and reporting solutions;
- Evaluation of platform and application monitoring tools;
- Evaluation of new technologies, devising new monitoring approaches;
- Work with Operations to monitor performance of applications and systems on an ongoing basis;
- Developing monitoring and automation tools;
- Developing custom application monitoring scripts;
- Designing and developing performance reports;
- Collaborate with developers to improve usability;
- Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies;
- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
Requirements
- 3+ years of proven hands-on devops or system monitoring experience;
- Experience with Zabbix and similar monitoring tools;
- Profound knowledge of monitoring principles and technologies;
- Experience of network monitoring and management;
- Familiar with software development lifecycle including continuous integration and agile development;
- Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration;
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash;
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills;
- Experience with cloud computing platforms;
- Experience with automation/configuration management using either ansible or similar tools;
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in high availability environments;
