Our Data Engineering team is responsible for the underlying data infrastructure that powers FLYR. It runs our internal development engine and drives our success by delivering and managing data-based services for our customers and internal product teams. Our data engineering team consumes data sources from our growing set of airline customers and assembles the Data Warehouse that underlies our advanced Machine Learning-based product offerings. Data is absolutely core to everything we do - FLYR is a company where accurate forecasts are the product, and a comprehensive Data Warehouse of airline business data is critical to our success with our airline customers.
To achieve this vision, we’re looking for ETL Developers (all levels) to join our Data Engineering team at our rapidly growing startup in San Francisco & Kraków, Poland.
As an ETL Developer, you will build data solutions that ingest, store, and distribute our data as well as make existing solutions more efficient through improvements and automation. Our data developers use BigQuery, SQL, Python, and Apache Airflow to populate our data warehouse and downstream applications.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Implement complex data ETL processes in SQL to load historical and ongoing data into FLYR’s structured data warehouse.
- Become proficient with our ETL processes and help ensure that they complete in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develop new ETL processes to consume structured and unstructured data formats.
- Improve the flow of information between our databases and load processes.
- Proactively identify problems/issues concerning data accuracy and data integrity.
- Contribute to data architecture, database design and query optimization.
About you
- 5+ years using SQL language
- Full understanding of ETL concepts
- Full understanding of data warehousing concepts
- Experience with dimensional data modeling
- Exposure to version control system (Git, SVN)
- Experience in a scripting language.
- Experience with building automation solutions
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
Desirable skills
- Significant hands-on experience with Google BigQuery.
- Work on a data warehouse in a major public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- Domain knowledge of the airline industry.
