Oracle Database Administrator

Tasks

• Database and application SQL performance tuning

• Design, develop, implement and maintain Oracle database instances

• Root cause analysis of production related database issues

• Daily maintenance, monitoring, problem resolution and internal customer and development support

• Review, design and develop data models in cooperation with application development teams

• Test, validate and implement performance and resource optimization solutions

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and experience

• Minimum 3 years of Oracle DBA experience on Unix or Linux

• At least 2 years of hands on database administration experience

• At least 1 year of hands on database development project experience

• Fluency in Oracle database technologies and tools

• Strong knowledge of database development

• Very good written and verbal communication skills in English

• Proven experience in cooperation with development engineering and other technical teams

• Ability to convert logical database design into physical design

• High motivation to solve problems efficiently

• Fast troubleshooting and issue resolution skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities

• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with DBA and application teams

• Experience with high volume OLTP database systems

• Experience with terabyte scale databases

• Experience with Oracle Data Guard replication solutions

• Knowledge of Oracle DBA best practices including schema management, index optimization and use of hints

• Strong query optimization and database tuning skills
