5G RAN Software Engineer/System Developer (C/C++)

About this opportunity

Integrated RAN Software Engineering is one of the three new Engineering Units in Business Area Networks, responsible for the end-to-end development for our Integrated RAN software and Compute products, including product and sub-system performance, as well as optimization of integrated software development flows.

PEU RAN Services is responsible for innovating and delivering customer value in 5G RAN SW Requirement Area Services and Ecosystem, as well as the newly created Requirement Area Dedicated Networks.

We are looking for different roles as code developers or testers with experience, system developers (system architects) responsible for overall system design as well as in the areas mentioned below.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for contributing to the design, development, and optimization of pioneering solutions in the areas of Traffic Control, Baseband, or Systematization of new functionalities.

We are hiring on different seniority levels - it depends on the candidates' experience.

Position offers hybrid work from the company's office in Kraków or Łódź. 

What you will do

• Collaborate with multi-functional teams using Agile methodology to design, develop, and implement innovative 5G RAN technology solutions.
• Influence the development of Traffic Control, Baseband, and System functionalities.
• Work on the optimization and performance tuning of software components.
• Collaborate with hardware and software architects to ensure seamless integration of solutions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate the latest technologies into the development process.

You will bring

• Bachelor's /master's degree in computer science/ related field or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in software development with a focus on 5G technology.
• Good spoken and written English
• Well established ability to work in a team environment.
• Expertise in C++ or C programming languages.
• Experience with CI tools, including Gerrit and Git.
• Strong understanding of 3GPP LTE & NR specifications

Additionally for working in

1. Traffic Control domain:

Knowledge of 5G systems or other Radio technology, L3 (RRC) with connection management, carrier aggregation and mobility in particular

Preparing and driving test specification for ongoing features

Creating, running, maintaining, and monitoring automated tests

2. Baseband domain:

Knowledge of L2 and L1 processing of LTE or NR protocol stack with experience in Radio Link Control (RLC), Media Access Control (MAC) and scheduling functionality or physical layer.

3. System Domain:

Ability to develop new system functionalities based on 3GPP specifications or customer requirements.

Understanding of the Product Development and the Product Life Cycle

Knowledge, experience, and background from working as a System Engineer

Good to know

Experience in using scripting languages like Python, Bash, etc.

If you have the experience concept & research work within areas like: Cloud-Native Network, Software Management – that will be additional asset
