    About the role

    The Performance Analyst will join the team of performance experts, responsible for further developing the mainframe from a performance and usage perspective. For this purpose, they support projects in an advisory function, take part in the release process to find performance issues and examine the system autonomously for possibilities of improvement and savings opportunities.


    How you will get the job done

    • consulting for upcoming technical projects
    • managing day-to-day support issues, resolving more complex incidents and problems
    • performing management across the layers
    • supporting application developers in cost optimization and troubleshooting
    • supporting major releases – stabilize & performance, execution of feasibility studies
    • troubleshooting as 3rd-level support
    • prioritizing and handling workload effectively
    • reporting


    Skills and experience you will need

    • fluency in English (spoken and written) at minimum B2 level
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a similar role in mainframe infrastructure and applications in a high-availability enterprise environment
    • associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, system administration, or a related field
    • experience within the ITIL processes: Service Request Management, Change and Release Management, Incident Management
    • knowledge of performance & tuning in mainframe applications
    • knowledge of performance tools WLM, RMF, MainView (BMC AMI Ops), APA, IMSPA, etc.
    • knowledge of COBOL compiler options and LE parms
    • experience in DB/DC system tuning – IMS pools, Db2 buffer pools, WLM service, etc.
    • experience in monitoring DB/DC systems using RMF, IMSPA etc.

    • willing to share the know-how with the team
    • excellent communication skills


    Nice to have

    • German language proficiency (at minimum B2 level)
    • experience in troubleshooting using Fault Analyzer, LE dumps, and IPCS
    • experience in analyzing WLM definitions using RMF
    • knowledge of Application Performance Analyzer & IMS Performance Analyzer
    • knowledge of mainframe and client/server infrastructure
