EQTek complements our international IT Team, with high-calibre experts based in Krakow. The team will be developing best-in-class applications and product delivery systems across all divisions of the business.

Business Function
 
The Group IT teams design, implement and manage the majority of the systems in use across the organisation, and their remit has recently extended across the Group.
 
This role is for a talented, seasoned, and detail oriented
 
Enterprise Architect to underpin the delivery of the IT vision of providing stable, modern, flexible, cost-effective and easy to use systems. The function will ensure the provision of predictable & efficient systems, services and solutions in alignment with commitments to clients and will be seen as a partner in defining Equiniti global strategy.

Core Duties/Responsibilities  

The successful candidate will be additionally responsible for the following:
  • Define and refine the Group Architecture standards, ensuring these are communicated to the wider teams, and reflected in designs emanating from the EA team.
  • Identify and define the architectural approach for major projects, liaising with Suppliers, Business and IT colleagues across the organisation to ensure the delivery of robust, secure and maintainable solutions.
  • Maintain and educate others to help maintain these standards through technical assessment and approval processes and through providing ongoing mentoring and support to the implementation and support teams to ensure best practice – including detailed KT sessions.
  • Act as a key consultant for projects with complex, specialist needs.
  • Lead analysis and research into new products, services and processes, utilising cost benefit analysis to identify the most cost effective/efficient IT products.
  • Facilitate innovation & actively contribute to revenue diversification and growth through pro-actively identifying & securing sponsorship for new initiatives
  • Provision of in-depth technical skills to fix ad-hoc incidents/problems when required.
  • Support the identification and implementation of ad-hoc tactical solutions to significant issues that arise, whilst planning a strategy for longer term resolution.

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes  

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:

In depth experience of designing and implementing enterprise solutions utilising a range of products including, but not limited to:
  • Microsoft core infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory, SQL Server, Hyper-V and Azure, VMware
  • High availability and load balancing techniques including hardware technologies such as Kemp & F5 Big-IP
  • Linux, Microsoft and related technologies

Practical understanding of:

  • Networking technologies (Cisco/Checkpoint/Juniper)
  • Multi-tiered application infrastructure.
  • Data Management Tools (Backups, archiving, monitoring)
  • IT security principles and accreditations (ISO27001)
  • ITIL
  • Togaf


  • Excellent Communication skills and experience in developing product and technology roadmaps and presenting to all levels of the business and external clients.
  • Track record of successfully achieving project deadlines, budgets and quality standards, ideally in a Financial Services or similarly regulated environment.
  • Able to demonstrate business benefit /value add in previous roles
  • Computing degree-level education or industry certification a distinct advantage

Role Summary

The scope of the role will cover all aspects of the Equiniti business and will report directly to the CTO. The role will be accountable for developing the Enterprise Architecture, and for ensuring projects align to Equiniti’s strategic plans, ambitions, architectures and standards. This role will also contribute significantly to the definition of the preferred technology standards and products to be used within, and procured by, Equiniti.
 
To perform effectively, the Enterprise Architect will be required to maintain up-to-date subject matter expertise covering IT strategy, architectures, vendor technology roadmaps and IT standards and an awareness of Equiniti strategy, vision &business development plans. The function will adopt an innovative mind-set and will expected to be seen as digital experts.
