Localization Manager
-What you'll do
Support developers and text creators on internationalization, culturalization, and text preparation to ensure content translatability.
Guide and support external translation and language quality assurance (LQA) teams with reference materials, linguistic instructions, and bug management.
Serve as the primary localization contact for publishers/LSPs, triaging questions and bugs.
Support and advise on text management middleware setup, localization pipelines, and tooling best practices.
Structure and maintain string databases and multilingual term databases.
Establish and maintain efficient localization pipelines, ensuring content readiness and timely deliveries.
Proactively identify and mitigate linguistic and technical risks throughout the development cycle.
Manage unforeseen changes to timelines and project scope with agility.
Who you are
Linguistic expertise in English and at least one other language, BA degree in language, translation, linguistics, and 3+ years’ experience as a translator or LQA tester.
In-depth localization project management experience in games or similar productions, including localization production planning based on scope, features and complexity, source text preparation, targeted reference materials creation, and multilingual quality checks.
Has in-depth knowledge and working experience from industry standard CAT tools and text management middleware, as well as comprehensive understanding of general string database functionality.
Broad experience from internationalization, culturalization, comparative grammar, proofreading/editing, VO/subtitling, and multilingual terminology work.
Linguistic expertise to take on selected American English source text tasks with ease to ensure translation readiness and translatability.
Has a deep understanding of cross-cultural differences and working in global teams.
