AWS Senior Engineer

Emagine is seeking an AWS Senior Cloud Engineer to join a collaborative and fast-paced transformation project environment in Lisbon. This role is ideal for an experienced cloud professional with a strong background in AWS technologies, Infrastructure as Code, and enterprise cloud operations, looking to contribute at a senior level within business-critical cloud infrastructure and platform environments.

You will play a key role in the design, implementation, optimization, and support of AWS cloud environments, ensuring performance, scalability, security, and operational excellence. Acting as an AWS Senior Cloud Engineer, you will work closely with the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE), infrastructure, application, and project teams to support ongoing operations, deliver cloud-related initiatives, and maintain resilient, secure, and highly available cloud platforms.

Your Main Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) to define and implement operational best practices across AWS environments

• Design and implement cloud architectures aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework

• Deploy, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices

• Support new projects by providing architectural guidance and deploying cloud solutions

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated application and infrastructure deployments

• Lead troubleshooting, incident resolution, and problem-solving activities across AWS environments

• Monitor and optimize cloud performance, scalability, availability, and cost efficiency

• Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards, governance policies, and cloud best practices

• Develop and maintain technical documentation related to cloud architecture, operations, and project activities

• Communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders to support ongoing operations and successful project delivery

You Bring:

• Proven experience designing, deploying, and administering AWS cloud environments

• Deep expertise in AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and cloud-native architectures

• Strong proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline

• Experience with monitoring, observability, and performance tuning in AWS environments

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within complex cloud ecosystems

• Ability to work across both operational support and project-based initiatives

• Experience producing and maintaining technical documentation

• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills

Nice to Have:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator

• Terraform Certification

• Experience working within enterprise-scale cloud environments

• Exposure to cloud transformation or modernization initiatives

• Previous experience working in international and complex enterprise environments

Location & Eligibility:

• Candidates must be based in Portugal

• Hybrid role based in Lisbon (2 days per week onsite)
