Job description
We store multibillion files and multiple petabytes of data. We observe more than 11K API request per second on average as per New Relic. To make that possible and to provide the best possible experience, we rely on great engineers. For us, people who own their work, from start to finish, are integral. Our Engineers are part of the process from design, to code, to test, to deployment and back again for further iterations. You will be part of Software Developers team. This role involves design and development activities on the various databases (majority on MySQL).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in data architecture definition, design and implementation
- Monitor, tune and troubleshoot the performance of databases
- Remodel existing databases schemas
- Work with developers on solution design
- Ensure databases meet business requirements and industry practices
- Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
Skills - Experience and Requirements:
- Detailed knowledge of core database design concepts and techniques
- Relational Databases experience on large scale (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with Database Performance Tests and Tuning
- Strong knowledge of data relationships and data normalization
- Good English skills
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with big data solutions
- Familiarity with automation technologies (Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
- Experience in Software Development - Java preferred
