Job description

IT Analyst- Network

Responsibilities: 
  • Providing day-to-day support of the network including LAN, WAN, routers, switches, WiFi and network security ensuring a high performing, consistent and secure network environment.
  • Respond to tickets raised via the ITSM tool. Resolve all tickets within target times to ensure that department service levels and key performance indicators are achieved.
  • Manage network related projects on local, regional or global level as needed.
  • Evaluate customer networks for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Maintain an inventory of network related devices, documentation and monitoring solution.
  • Develop and maintain network standards and processes based on industry best practices.
  • Provide appropriate training, guidance and assistance to Local IT Support staf
  • Escalating complex issues to 3rd line of support or solution provider whichever applicable.
  • Work in a consultative manner management, team members and other systems engineers to ensure departmental best practice is adhered to.
  • Work   with   internal   technical   teams   and   product   placement   and   feature improvements for availability, reliability, and manageability.
  • Acting as a liaison, advisor and technician on network issues within the supported region.
  • Creates technical deliverables including network assessments, capacity planning detailed design documents, implementation plans, schedules for Network Operations and configurations.

Knowledge:
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco technology solutions (LAN (WiFi), WAN)
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of:
    • VLAN, Spanning-tree, VTP, Port Channels, Load balancing, SPAN 
    • Routing protocols OSPF, EIGRP, BGP 
    • MPLS, IPSec
    • CAP/WAP
    • Cisco Catalyst, IOS, ISR, WLC, ACS, Prime
  • Knowledge of the Proxy class enterprise solutions (hardware and applications)
  • Designing and managing LAN/MAN/WAN
  • Basic knowledge of VPN solutions, firewall (Checkpoint, Juniper)
  • Experience in managing of DNS, DHCP, NPS services based on Microsoft solutions

Experience/Must have:
  • University degree in computer science or related.
  • Minimum 4 year’s experience in IT of which at least 2 year’s experience of working on an independent position
  • Worked on medium size networks & Managed Service Portfolio
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and logical thinking
  • Experience in conducting and coordinating projects
  • Advanced verbal and written skills in English
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco switches, WLC, Access Points
