Job description

Online interview
DXC Technology (you know – small global corporate, with about  130k employees worldwide, helping our clients with their digital transformation/digital) is seeking for:

Java Developers

In Warsaw

We are looking for open minded, skillful and proactive software engineers to join our team!

Your day-to-day tasks might include:
  • Seeking solutions for unsolved mysteries – probably not on a quantum physics level, however we might ask you to solve complex problems and share the solutions with your team or department. Or to program R2D2. Who knows…
  • Poking holes in current solutions – if you think that the stuff we produced could be improved – DO IT!
  • Developing your own solutions, testing it and preparing for release – who’ll know better what should be configured if not its Creator?
  • Working closely with your teammates - listening, mentoring, or doing pair programming – whatever might help you and your team. Collaboration is THE key! And we mean that.
  • Working on technical requirements analysis with analysts and testers to provide definition of done, success and failure criteria that could be measured and tracked during the project. Did we mention that collaboration is THE key?
  • Stepping up in a dev lead role if needed – to drive the feature development towards the bright future that awaits around the corner!
  • Being able to ask tough technical questions during the recruitment process. Or being able to be a compassionate technical recruiter that can see the bigger picture.
  • Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone to grow. Seriously – we want you to grow and develop your technical and soft skills.
  • Have you heard about the devops? It’s not the mythical automation or ci/cd team – you will be a part of this ecosystem – your work doesn’t end on git commit & git push. You’ll have to learn and mentor others how to do things that they’ll run smoothly.

Okay, now the corporate stuff aka. “the requirements”:
  • 3 years of professional software engineer / developer role documented
  • Ability to develop in Java. We’ll check that. I promise.
  • Knowledge of design patterns and its use cases. We’ll check that too.
  • Project frameworks – some or all of them (Spring, EJB, ORM)
  • You have to know at least one of these frontend frameworks (AngularJS, Bootstrap, JSF, ExtJS, React) – we’ll assume that you know html and css – but to make sure – we’ll check that.
  • Ability to write unit / integration tests for your code – sorry mate, but this is a MUST.
  • Scrum / Kanban experience would be nice
  • Your English should be at least on intermediate level. Not only reading/writing – we’ll ask you to speak too. I know.. I know.
  • Ability to present your solutions – here comes the speaking skill, Power Point/reveal.js/markdown would be a nice asset if you want to present anything. We, the DXC focus a lot on documentation as a code and on documentation transparency. No tribal knowledge, no skeletons in the closet.

We could write a lot more here, but here’s the deal – if you’re open minded, proactive and collaborative person – and you could persuade us about that – we could skip the rest.

Why would you join us?
We offer a steady job in an international company in the heavily invested area, where you will encounter multiple opportunities to cooperate with inspiring people from across the world. A place where you can learn, work with experts, share your knowledge and enjoy many social activities and events prepared for our Employees.

What we can offer you to join us?
  • full-time employment contract
  • salary that will match your skills, experience and competences
  • lots of fantastic opportunities for personal and professional development – not only during the projects – that would be too easy, right? We can offer you internal DXC University program, lots of trainings from our partners, internal workshops & stuff.
  • modern and friendly work environment with open door policy – if you want to talk – we’re here to listen.
  • private medical care, social benefits system, life insurance, Multisport card,
  • DXC Employee Assistance Program (providing help for employees in difficult life situations)
  • flexibility in work arrangement (home-office culture is in our DNA)
