Analytics Global Delivery Poland, a large, growing delivery centre located in Warsaw, offers high-quality Applications/Platforms Development and Management Services to DXC customers all over the world. The Center’s portfolio covers the full software lifecycle, including Business and Systems Analysis, Development, Quality Assurance, Project Management, Testing and Support. The main technology focus is on Cloud, Big Data, Business Intelligence, Web and mobile solutions, ERP and CRM systems. DXC invests in multiple certifications for its employees, both technical (eg Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SAP), and managerial (PMP, ITIL).

We are currently looking for:  
 
Big Data Platform Administrator  
 
Job location: Warsaw or Poland (remote)

The successful candidate will be part of a growing Big Data Delivery Team located in Poland, focusing on various Big Data technologies, providing projects and services to international clients and teams from the UK, US, Germany, France, Netherlands, Philippines, India and other parts of the world. You will participate in end-to-end project implementations delivered in a dynamic and young environment that encourages innovative solutions. We offer an opportunity to develop both in the technology and business areas.  
  
This role is an excellent opportunity for skilled Linux admins who would like to work with cutting-edge technologies and learn all there is about DevOps and Big Data. We will invest time and resources to deliver customized trainings to enable your professional growth.  
 
 
You Will Be Responsible For
 
  • providing support to projects developing new platforms & applications or changes to existing applications 
  • large scale deployments, automation and configuration management
  • technology explorations, research & development, deep investigations & trouble-shooting 
  • providing consultancy for ongoing projects 

Qualifications
 
  • excellent Linux skills 
  • experienced with managing at least one of the following Hadoop platforms (3 years or more): Hortonworks, Cloudera, MapR 
  • experienced or/else knowledge of the following technologies: HDFS, Hive (including HQL/ANSI SQL), YARN, HBase, Spark, MySQL, Cassandra, PostgreSQL and similar 
  • nice to have some experience in Platform migrations i.e. from HDP/CDH to CDP
  • aware of public cloud platform concepts – AWS, Azure and GCP 
  • networking concepts understanding 
  • backup/Recovery, Data Replication and Disaster Failover concepts and implementations
  • solid problem solving and analytical skills 
  • strong English language skills 
  • strong interpersonal skills 
  • autonomous, strong ownership and drive to get things done 
  • eagerness to learn and adaptability to changes 
  • BSc/ MSc degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent 

We appreciate: 
 

  • infrastructure automation & monitoring tools experience i.e. Ansible, AWS/Azure public cloud, IaC approach and concepts, Nagios, Zabbix, LogicMonitor, etc.
  • knowledge of scripting languages i.e. Python, bash 
  • certifications confirming gained skills (RHCSA, HDPCA, CCAH, MapR Hadoop Administrator, AZ-103/104, AWS Certified Administrator)
  • experience with other Big Data technologies remain current with BI trends and standards
