Project for a big Oil & Gas corporation from Norway (6k employees).
You’ll be working closely with business people, IT specialists (SE architects, UI/UX people), Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence professionals, QA, logistics department and product manager to enhance, maintain and manage the IT infrastructure supporting real, money-generating operations & machines in oil industry as well as data processing and system monitoring.
The role is a fast-paced environment that involves above-average degree of tech, swiftness, communication & people skills. Ideal candidate can present a work history for well-known brands, some startup world experience (we’re lean and move quickly), min 2 years of similar commercial experience on a similar position.

🔥 Requirements
☑️ Minimum 2 years of professional experience on commercial projects and similar position (as a DevOps / Linux administrator)
☑️ Minimum 4 years of commercial, hands-on IT experience in total
☑️ Fluent English communication skills
☑️ Package management (Yum, Apt)
☑️ Web server administration (Apache, Nginx)
☑️ Database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
☑️ Scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby etc.)
☑️ Ansible configuration management tools; similar tools (e.g. Chef, Puppet) are a plus
☑️ CI tools: Jenkins and more modern equivalents
☑️ Containerization: Docker (heavily), Docker compose & Vagrant (basic)
☑️ Understanding of Linux system, and experience with utility tools (e.g. Sed)
☑️ Strong understanding of computer networks & protocols
☑️ Understanding & interest in security best practices (e.g. disaster recovery planning, manage authentication/role-based access control), and secret management tools
🔥 Big pluses
☑️ Studied Computer Science (or related technical major) at a prestigious university - e.g. in Poland: University of Warsaw, Warsaw University of Technology, AGH, Jagiellonian University
☑️ Familiar with VMware vSphere
☑️ Previous experience wrt modern monitoring tools/frameworks/daemons e.g. ELK stack, Grafana, New Relic, Sentry, Prometheus, Collectld, Consul, Telegraf, Fluentd
☑️ Kubernetes
☑️ Experience with HA systems
☑️ “Infrastructure as a code” - e.g. Terraform
☑️ Powershell
☑️ If you have experience in Windows administration, that’s a plus as well (however you’ll be mainly focused on Linux side)
☑️ Cloud: AWS, Google Cloud
☑️ Queue mechanisms: RabbitMQ, Celery, RQ
☑️ Extensive knowledge of the optimisation of relational DBs
☑️ Experience with non-relational DBs such as MongoDB or Redis
☑️ Swagger
☑️ If you consider yourself a nerd :), live in the terminal, installed Gentoo at the age of 11 or are just passionate about the technology, that's a big plus

☑️ Improve, manage, maintain, monitor and operate client’s IT infrastructure/servers
☑️ Perform, plan, manage and built prototyping infrastructure PoC experiments
☑️ Automation of IT infrastructure processes
☑️ Ensuring strict security requirements among IT and other departments
☑️ Collaborate closely with senior developer and advise from the administration/DevOps side
☑️ Design, deliver and document solutions according to requirements
☑️ Assist others in analyzing and resolving system and application problems
