We are seeking a part time, energetic and motivated engineer who is as passionate as we are about developing and delivering great product. We want someone who is excited to be part of an engineering team that is developing the front end to operationalize Decent’s health plan and decentralize it in the future. Decent will offer more affordable healthcare by aligning incentives to improve health, reduce costs, and put members at the center of their care. This part-time role requires hands-on experience building front end code. You will work directly with our experienced team of developers and CTO in a highly collaborative team environment.
Decent currently has a small, but growing team in Gdańsk, Poland. This position will work from home initially, but we plan to open an office in Gdańsk once we have a slightly larger team. We are looking for someone who can work 2-3 evenings/week.

What You Will Be Doing
- Collaborate with our product folks and backend engineering to understand needs.
- Developing user interfaces for a wide variety of tasks centered around handling large amounts of data, including modeling and visualizing the data; filtering, searching, and exploring the data; adding and manipulating the data; The platform is composed of many microservices.
- Own monitoring, alarming, analytics, and reporting on all services you build, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
- Learn about decentralization and blockchain systems as Decent evolves.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of software engineering experience developing reliable, scalable frontend systems, especially in microservices-based or distributed environments.
- Demonstrable, in-depth knowledge and experience with web technologies using HTML, CSS and Javascript (send us a link to your portfolio)
- Experience building web applications from scratch, should be able to demonstrate deep understanding of technology choices.
- Experience with system design, scaling, and performance testing.
- Curious, continually learning, and eager to share your newfound knowledge with others.
