Key Responsibilities:
- Extract, transform, and manipulate data using SQL and Python
- Clean and reshape datasets using Pandas
- Perform numerical computations with NumPy
- Develop scripts for automated data processing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements
- Produce basic analytical summaries and reports
Core Skills – Must Have:
SQL (Basic to Intermediate):
- Strong grasp of SELECT, WHERE, GROUP BY, ORDER BY, HAVING, LIMIT
- Proficiency in joins: INNER, LEFT, RIGHT, FULL OUTER
- Experience with built-in SQL functions: aggregate, string, date, and analytical functions
- Subqueries, CTEs, and filtering with BETWEEN, IN, LIKE, IS NULL
- Understanding of schema design: primary/foreign keys, data types
- Familiarity with window functions (preferred)
Python (Basic to Intermediate):
- Data structures: lists, tuples, dictionaries, sets
- Conditional logic, loops, functions, lambdas, exception handling
- File handling (CSV, Excel, JSON, etc.)
- Modular programming and virtual environments (pip, venv)
- Use of Jupyter notebooks and scripting practices
Pandas (Basic to Mid-Level):
- DataFrame creation, slicing, indexing, filtering
- Aggregations using groupby, pivot, pivot_table
- Missing data handling: fillna, dropna, isnull
- Merging/joining/concatenating DataFrames
- Applying functions with apply() and lambda
- Date/time operations and writing outputs
NumPy (Basic to Mid-Level):
- Array creation, reshaping, slicing, and broadcasting
- Mathematical operations: mean, sum, std, dot, etc.
- Random number generation and array stacking/splitting
Bonus:
- Understanding of code optimization and secure query practices in SQL and Python
Exposure to basic linear algebra concepts is advantageous
