As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for:
- gning and developing applications using the newest technologies
- providing clean and usable data
- recommend ways to improve data quality, reliability and efficiency
- wrestling with challenging problems associated with data
- collaborating with IT team members on project goals.
Essential skills for this role:
- Strong hacking skills in Java or Scala- you have used advanced functions of the language such as multithreaded processing, streaming, optimisation of networking or optimisation of disk IO, ideally when you do understand as well deep working of the language such as garbage collection, virtual machine, runtime environment, interpreter etc.
- Experience with databases, both relational and non-relational, e.g. SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra.
- Practice with Big Data-related technologies (Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Spark, Kafka)
- Willingness to learn, “getting things done” attitude, open mindset
- Fluency in English.
