About the Project
We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Engineer to join a strategic initiative within a System Operations organization focused on improving operational transparency, monitoring capabilities, and process analytics.
You will contribute to the design and implementation of modern monitoring solutions, data processing components, dashboards, and analytical tools that support operational excellence across complex environments.
This engagement offers the opportunity to work on a high-impact project involving data-driven decision-making, process optimization, visualization, automation, and containerized cloud-native technologies.
Your Responsibilities
Data Integration & Processing
Design and implement robust data ingestion and processing solutions.
Build and maintain automated ETL/ELT pipelines.
Develop data validation, parsing, logging, and error-handling mechanisms.
Design and optimize database schemas, data models, and SQL queries.
Support analytical activities related to operational process monitoring.
Dashboards, Monitoring & Analytics
Develop and enhance operational dashboards and KPI visualizations.
Implement trend analysis, comparison views, and anomaly detection mechanisms.
Configure alerting and notification systems for operational deviations.
Generate analytical reports and actionable operational insights.
Support transparency initiatives through meaningful data visualization.
Software Engineering & DevOps
Deliver senior-level Python engineering expertise across the full software lifecycle.
Develop backend services and APIs supporting operational monitoring.
Deploy and configure solutions within Kubernetes-based environments.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and release processes.
Troubleshoot runtime issues and optimize system performance.
Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and handover activities.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have Technical Skills
Extensive commercial experience with Python (Python 3.11+; readiness for Python 3.13 is highly desirable).
Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
Practical experience designing data models and optimizing complex queries.
Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data processing solutions.
Experience with logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational analytics.
Strong experience with dashboarding and visualization technologies such as:
Python Dash
FastAPI
React
Similar modern visualization frameworks
Experience working with Azure DevOps or comparable DevOps platforms.
Solid knowledge of Kubernetes, containerized environments, and Helm.
Experience generating automated reports (PDF, Word, or similar formats).
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and code quality standards.
Languages
English – fluent (spoken and written).
German – required for communication with stakeholders and operational teams.
Nice to Have
Experience working within System Operations or IT Operations environments.
Experience building monitoring or observability solutions.
Knowledge of KPI frameworks and operational process optimization.
Experience with anomaly detection and analytical reporting solutions.
Exposure to large-scale enterprise environments.
