Principal (DIR) Quant Engineer (C++/NET)


Your field of responsibility
The ideal candidate will be a Software Development Team Lead, with a proven track record of managing developers and coordinating medium size projects from inception through to successful delivery. They will help shape the future architecture of the most widely used financial modelling libraries in Credit Suisse and the development platform used by hundreds of quant developers globally.
This is a hands on role offering a mix of technical and managerial work. The existing team includes experienced developers who will support their future lead.
He or she will be responsible for governance and delivery of the projects executed by the team, promoting good architecture, reporting progress, unblocking external dependencies and managing priorities.

Your future colleagues
The Core Analytics team consists of C++ and .net developers, working on the development platform, test frameworks/tools and core elements of Credit Suisse primary modelling library. Members of the team collaborate on daily basis with their colleagues in other engineering teams (responsible for Continuous Integration and Release Management) and quant teams (developing individual financial models). Whilst team members typically specialize in particular technologies (C#, F#, C++, with mix of msbuild, windbg), we learn from each other and work as a team to deliver projects using the most appropriate technologies.  We are a department which values Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) and is committed to realizing the firm’s D&I ambition which is an integral part of our global cultural values.  .
 
 
This position offers remote working opportunities for an agreed amount of days per week.

Your skills and experience
 
A pro-active software developer team lead, with a passion for delivering business benefit through technology:
  • Proven track record of successfully managing high performing software developers
  • Detailed hands-on knowledge of either .net and/or C++.
  • Practical knowledge of good software practices – automated tests, continuous integration and agile methodologies.

The following will be advantageous:

  • Proven Experience working as part of a commercial quant/analytics development function.
  • Proven Knowledge of functional programming paradigm, COM, msbuild, SxS, various debugging techniques (interactive disassembler, windbg, perfview, sysinternals)
