A Release Manager position at //Red might vary from what you're used to, so let us explain the details. The role is all about maintaining a release cycle activities during a project development. Software we work with gets released in a regular periods of time and a Release Manager is responsible for following the process and looking after each release. That translates to building software, passing it over to testers, preparing documents like changelog and charts, and communicating it with each interested party.

Communication with engineers, testers and managers is crucial to fulfill the process definition and to release software in line with expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking release cadence, respecting deadlines and strictly following release requirements
  • Triggering automated release process according to cadence and reacting to issues
  • Documenting all differences to previous releases
  • Reviewing Jira tickets to reflect release scope
  • Announcing a release through dedicated channels
  • Announcing release notes and updating confluence pages
  • Systematic reviews of Jira tickets to track "release to release" changes
  • Communication with engineers, testers and managers to clarify issues

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in similar role
  • Experience working with Linux, GIT and Bash scripting
  • Experience working with the following tools: Jira (JQL queries, filters), Gerrit, Confluence, Jenkins
  • Very good communication in English
  • Nice to have: Flowdoc

Our Recruitment Process
