The role:
The Scrum Master’s responsibilities include ensuring that development teams follow scrum framework values and agile practices, mentoring and motivating the teams to improve processes, facilitating meetings and decision-making processes, and eliminating team impediments. To be successful as a Scrum Master, have a firm grasp of agile practices, SAFe and the ability to effectively manage and mentor development teams. An outstanding Scrum Master should have excellent interpersonal, project management, and problem-solving skills. Role will include running daily scrums, managing the product backlog, collaborating on requirement documentation, managing support tickets and unblocking barriers to keep the team moving. Scrum Master will be responsible to communicate and collaborate primarily with the engineering, product management, architecture, and senior management teams.
Responsibilities:
- Using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.
- Training, mentoring, and supporting scrum teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices.
- Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items.
- Scheduling and facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes.
- Manage the engineering development projects and facilitates sprint releases
- Create or analyse business requirements documents and project timelines
- Drive team iteration execution, communicates with management and stakeholders, protects the team from uncontrolled injection of work (changes are evaluated/intentional)
- Manage project conflicts, challenges, and dynamic business requirements to keep operations running at a high performance
- Able to do post-mortem and root cause analysis to help teams continuously improve their practices to ensure maximum productivity
- Presents high level project readouts for senior management
- Supports product owner(s) with intra-team dynamics with respect to priorities and scope
What do you need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field preferred
- Minimum 3-4 years of project management experience and 3 years leading scrum teams
- Certified scrum master
- Demonstrable expertise of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, etc.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile procedures to predict the development teams’
- Hands on experience with Scaled Agile Framework
- Passionate commitment to delivering products on time
- Deep understanding of agile metrics (tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories etc.) to analyse and improve sprint planning
