Job description

Cloud Automation Engineer

As a Cloud Automation Engineer you will be a part of the global team of technical experts. You will build and engineer automation and maintain and support Clariant's Infrastructure as a Code, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions based mainly on Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. You will be engineering automation with the DevOps tools such as Terraform, Chef, Github, Python, Cloudchecker, Jira, Datadog and more. You will integrate those solutions in a secure manner into the existing Clariant`s Cloud environment. You will also provide guidance and consultancy to business on these technologies and support project managers during the planning of cloud-based software projects. Finally, you will develop, design and maintain cloud delivery methodologies, governance framework and security standards. You will build Clariant of tomorrow.

Mostly you will:

Define, support and maintain Cloud Automation Roadmap for AWS
Automate Infrastructure & Application Services into AWS with code and scripting
Support the Standard Framework for Cloud Automation (Infrastructure as a Code)
Provide and ensure proper service support for the Clariant Support Organization
Participate in the design of new services and define automation requirements
Become a leader of service management for cloud technology roadmaps
Plan project and team activities
Evaluate future cloud technologies for their applicability and cost effectiveness at Clariant
Identifying innovation projects
Be responsible for harmonization, consolidation and standardization of services and processes
Designing and implementing global IT solutions

We wish you have:

Deep hands-on experience in Cloud Automation as a DevOPS Engineer or Developer
Practice working in a traditional onsite hosting infrastructure environment
Good skills and willingness to learn more in Terraforms, Python, Chef, GitHub, Ansible and other tools
A proven track record of managing and delivering large-scale enterprise IT projects
IT Service Management process know how and ideally you worked with ServiceNow
Familiarity with industry compliance / security standards including PCI DSS, SOC-1&2, ISO 27001, GDPR
Fluent spoken and written English

As advantage you may have:

AWS CHEF, CHEF Automate certification
MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure certificate
ITIL Intermediate / Professional certificate
ServiceNow experience
Project Management Certification (Prince 2)
Hands on experience in integration of cloud services with on-prem technologies from Microsoft & SAP
Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC)
Agile / Scrum understanding and knowledge
