Ciklum is looking for a Solution Architect to join our team on a full-time basis. Working within the Ciklum IT department, the Solution Architect is responsible for validating, understanding and translating business needs into feasible, appropriate and strategically-aligned business IT solutions. We consider candidates from across Ukraine, Poland, Belarus. This job can be fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Validation and clarification of business needs, requirements (incl. functional and non-function) and constraints
- Translation of business requirements into viable business technology solutions that align with Ciklum’s business strategy, IT strategy and target Enterprise Architecture
- Researching, identifying and documenting potential solutions (options) to solve business problems and meet business needs. This includes identifying, assessing and selecting technologies, architectural styles and patterns needed to deliver solutions
- Defining and designing at a high-level business technology solutions and architecturally planning their realisation (road maps). This should be undertaken holistically (incl. Business, Data, Applications, Technology, Integration, Security & Operational Architecture) and collaboratively with wider business and IT teams
- Scoping and governing feasibility assessments of technologies, products and solutions
- Assessing and documenting effort, risk, costs and complexity for solutions and their realisation
- Assessing and balancing functional, quality, management and operational requirements
- Effectively communicating architectural topics (designs, plans, choices, etc) to stakeholders using the most appropriate means, adjusting the level of detail and focus as necessary
- Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders across the organisation to ensure solutions are understood and meet business needs and requirements
- Developing strong relationships with change delivery and operational teams to ensure solutions are understood and are implemented as intended or re-designed as necessary
- Providing a “trusted advisor” relationship to business stakeholders regarding their aspirations, benefits and technical feasibility, providing healthy challenge, guidance and support
- Communicating the options, designs, plans, risks and general position of a business technology project on behalf of the IT department in a highly-informed and trusted fashion
- Working closely with Information Security to ensure solutions are compliant with Ciklum security and privacy requirements
- Guiding, supporting and governing the lower level design, planning and implementation of solutions by projects and business and IT colleagues
- Operating within and ensuring others also adhere to IT governance, including project and architectural processes
- Analysing, when directed, Ciklum’s current Enterprise Architecture and IT landscape, or subsets thereof, to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement, driving efficiency, agility and reuse
- Keeping abreast of architecture and technology trends, approaches and frameworks
- Championing the benefits of IT strategy and architecture across Ciklum
Requirements
- At least 7 years experience in a professional IT role or equivalent role
- At least 2 years experience in a Solutions Architecture role or equivalent role defining, designing, planning, leading and governing significant business technology change
- Knowledge and experience of multiple architecture domains – Business, Data, Technology, Security, Integration & Operational, with depth in Application architecture and ideally also depth in Data and/or Integration architecture
- Ability to assess, define, design, plan and deliver solutions comprised of globally distributed cloud services (SaaS et al), application packages and/or bespoke solutions
- Ability to develop, and see through to implementation and operation, business outcome-focused Solutions Architectures for complex projects, to meet functional and non-functional requirements, ideally using a best practice framework using enterprise tools
- Ability to analyse complex situations, environments or systems and form an informed, evidence-based assessment and recommendation
- Ability to communicate the options, designs, plans, risks and general position of a business technology project on behalf of the IT department in a highly-informed and trusted fashion
- Knowledge and experience of a variety of architectural styles such as Service Oriented, Microservices, Event-Driven, Client-Server, REST, etc
- Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
- Knowledge and practical experience of architectural modelling (Archimate, UML, etc) and the creation of architecture models, views and deliverables necessary for solution delivery
- Knowledge of key professional services and consulting concepts as well as the organizational, business and technical challenges that they face
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and issues clearly and succinctly to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Ability to negotiate with stakeholders, resolve disagreements and issues, and positively influence outcomes
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Advanced spoken and written English
- Ability to efficiently create clear, concise written documents, presentations, diagrams, architectural artefacts and deliverables in English
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree-level education (BSc); postgraduate qualification desirable (MSc, MBA)
- TOGAF, BCS EA & SA Practitioner, Zachman, IASA, IAF or equivalent qualifications or certifications is highly desirable
