The person will work on the SpotLyt Analytics Workbench product. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a market leading visual analytics workbench, that combines beautiful visualisations with a full SQL editor and tight integration with Jupyter notebooks. The backend is powered by proprietary GPU accelerated version of PostgreSQL, recognised as the world’s fastest database. This GPU powered database means data can be explored interactively with an incredibly responsive user experience. SpotLyt also has exception mapping capabilities, able to create interactive maps on billions of points of geospatial data, using point-maps, heatmaps and choropleth, something that other products like Tableau are simply not table to do.
The candidate will be reporting to Head of Web Technologies and joining the team of another eight C/C++ developers who are responsible for the GPU accelerated database.
Requirements for the role are:
- At least 3 years of commercial programming
- At least 2 years of commercial programming in JS
- Experience with React + Redux
- Experience in building API servers (REST and others) and TCP/IP, HTTP
- Experience with SQL databases
- Experience with Docker
- Good knowledge of ES6
- Experience with mapping tools (like google maps, mapbox, leaflet)
- Experience with data visualisation tools (like plotly, d3)
- At least basic knowledge about testing (TDD)
- Experience with maintaining legacy code
- Clean code
