MOBILE TEAM

The Mobile Team at Brainly is working on some of the most complex challenges in the ed-tech space: creating communities for students around the world. We focus on building the infrastructure that enables Brainly users to ask and answer millions of questions every day. An important part of our work is to deliver and maintain the subscription model in the app.  

Members of this team have the opportunity to work on commercialization of the mobile product, including ads and the conversion funnel as well as exciting new features exclusive to mobile, such as the OCR based "instant-answer" capabilities.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

A new Mobile QA Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Manual testing of our Android and iOS applications
  • Actively participating in creating and maintaining automation tests
  • Creating and maintaining test cases
  • Documenting and analyzing test results
  • Submitting corresponding defects for developers
  • Participating in the application release process
  • Collaborating with developers, designers, analysts and product owners to deliver the best quality products
  • Providing training and support to quality teams/colleagues on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes based on the Quality Assurance 
 
WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

Required:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in mobile applications testing 
  • General knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes;
  • Knowledge about best practices for test cases creation, maintenance, and execution;
  • An understanding of user acceptance methodologies including, black box testing, use cases, and user stories
  • Familiarity with mobile-specific interface designs (UI/UX testing)
  • Experience with performing and supervising exploratory testing
  • Practical knowledge using ADB or/and Xcode
  • Understanding of the Scrum/Agile methodology 
  • Fluency in English

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience or desire to test educational platforms
  • Knowledge of tools for project/test management (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr, TestRail, Xray)
  • Experience with test automation and testing frameworks (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, Calabash)
  • Experience with app analytics (Amplitude / google analytics or similar)
  • Knowledge of proxying software like Charles / proxyman
  • Familiarity with BDD and/or TDD concepts
  • Familiarity with one of the following languages: Python, Java, Kotlin, Swift
  • Familiarity with ISTQB concepts

  • Location: Kraków, Poland or remotely
  • Salary: 9 000 - 13 000 PLN gross/monthly (employment contract)
