Job description
The Platform Team at Brainly is working on some of the most complex challenges in the ed-tech space: creating communities for students around the world. We focus on building the infrastructure that enables Brainly users to ask and answer millions of questions every day. The systems we build are used across all of Brainly, making us one of the most impactful teams at the company.
Are you a passionate and highly experienced engineer interested in helping us build the next generation of our automation platform, infrastructure, and tooling?
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop and manage AWS Cloud Platform
- Collaborate with the security team to improve the security posture, including the technical enforcement of policies and guidelines
- Creating/Updating technical documentation
- Work with Software Engineers, and Product Owners to understand their needs in Product Development and build systems and infrastructure to empower them to move faster, more effectively, and with higher quality
- Tune system & service for performance and stability
- Research new solutions which might help to improve the platform
- Identifying underlying root causes for infrastructure failures and provide recommendations or solutions for long term permanent fixes
- AWS Costs Optimization
DevOps Infrastructure Team at Brainly:
- Work with Software Engineers, and Product Owners to understand their needs in Product Development and build systems and infrastructure to empower them to move faster, more effectively, and with higher quality
- Develop, deploy, and maintain systems & services in our service catalogue
- Tune system & service for performance and stability
- Research new solutions which might help to improve the platform
- Identifying underlying root causes for infrastructure failures and provide recommendations or solutions for long term permanent fixes
Our stack, that you’ll be working with:
- AWS Services: VPC, Security Groups, Autoscaling, ALB, ELB, EKS, RDS and more
- Terraform, Ansible
- Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes
- Grafana, Kibana, Icinga, Kapacitor, Telegraf, Logstash
- … and many others
We expect you to have:
- Proven experience in large AWS environments: implementation, maintenance, administration
- Experience and understanding of Infrastructure as a Code concepts
- Minimum of 5 years’ Linux/UNIX experience
- Automation toolset - Terraform, Ansible, Go, Python, Bash
- Experience in Kubernetes and Mesos: implementation, maintenance, administration, monitoring
- Monitoring and Alerting experience: ELK Stack, TIG Stack, Icinga
- Self-motivated, team player who demonstrates initiative and flexibility
- Demonstrable experience of working in technically complex, hosted environments, supporting multiple projects
Nice to have:
- AWS SysOps Administrator/Solutions Architect Associate Certificate
- Experience with testing methodologies and automation
