Software Engineer (hybrid, 3 days from the office)

The Backend Engineer owns the design, reliability, performance, and evolution of backend systems that power the Voltana energy management platform. The role ensures that backend services meet functional and non-functional requirements, operate reliably in production, and continuously improve in scalability and efficiency as the platform evolves.

The Backend Engineer is responsible for building backend systems that are robust, operable, and suited to real-world energy workloads, while actively contributing to the platform's long-term architecture and health.

Your responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services, APIs, and data models supporting the core energy product capabilities.

• Define and maintain application-level infrastructure, including databases, message queues, caches, and supporting services, in collaboration with cloud engineers.

• Contribute actively to system and application architecture to ensure long-term scalability, maintainability, and robustness.

• Apply engineering best practices, including effective use of AI-assisted development, to improve quality and efficiency.

Our requirements

• Experience: 4+ years in Software Engineering using Python, RDBMS, NoSQL, and algorithm implementation.

• Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Energy Domain Expertise: Prior experience in the Energy domain is a plus.

• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems and code issues.
