Senior Java Software System Engineer

 The SW System Engineer in BEUMER Group is responsible for solving software development tasks as well as participating in parts of or the total project and product from analysis to test and commissioning of the system. 

As a Senior software Developer at BEUMER Group Airport Projects you become part of a software organization of 120 specialists who are ready to challenge you professionally. In your daily work, you will be part of a project team of about 10 colleagues, and together you will create the solutions that will become the world's leading luggage systems in the departure and arrival halls of the world. We take care of the entire SW development palette of our complex systems. You will have the opportunity to get your hands on things like back-end, databases, algorithms, GUI, configuration and testing.

We are searching for a professional and motivated professionals who will join our team, where the main responsibility is development and delivery of high-end quality software solutions for Airports. You will work in an international organization, communicating with and supporting our customers worldwide.

Your responsibilities

In relation to this role, the following overall tasks are in scope:

• Software design, development and configuration according to specification 
• Software development according to best practices, BEUMER processes and company quality management system
• Programming in JAVA, using SQL etc. 
• Building microservices oriented, Docker and/or Kubernetes based SW solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with defined coding and architectural standards 
• Performing code review 
• Configuring and setting up third party software and hardware
• Configuring and installing platform components and products 
• Documentation of developed solutions 
• Software bug fixing
• Contribute to module, integration and FAT test and commissioning (remote or on site)
• Preparing customer documentation
• Input to estimation and risk evaluation
• Keeping technically up to date

Qualifications

You are a motivated, confident and communicative person with already profound object-oriented enterprise experience in software development. Furthermore, you have the following qualifications:

• University degree – technical or IT oriented studies
• Open for working within international teams
• At least 4-5 years of proven commercial experience with JAVA and SQL
• Proven experience in Containerization and usage of Docker and/or Kubernetes
• Very good level of English written and spoken
• Strong focus on quality assurance (specification, code, processes, documentation, tests, etc.)
• Best case also front-end experience with HTML5 and Angular (nice to have)
• Basic knowledge and understanding of agile project methodologies
• Good orientation and overview in the area of machine engineering (nice to have)
