Job description
Beta District is a Hong Kong based company with offices in Poznań, London and Odessa. Broad range of different products (from BitCoin payment system to worldwide gambling platform) allowed Engineering Team to use a lot of distinct solutions, based on Java, Ruby on Rails, GoLang and React.js.
We are looking for an open-minded:
Head of Data Engineering
Your role:
Your role:
Working closely with the data science and software engineering teams so as to help us build and manage a big data analytics environment, as well as support the production and deployment of real-time machine learning algorithms.
What we need from you:
- a degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, physics, computer science or engineering,
- software development experience, ideally in Python or Scala,
- understanding of and experience in implementing Big Data technologies including Spark, messaging services such as RabbitMQ or Kafka and workflow management tools such as Airflow,
- SQL and NoSQL experience, ideally in Postgres, Redis, MongoDB and/or Presto,
- being ambitious, with a desire to play a leading role in the industry,
- experience in working on gambling or bitcoin related projects, or directly with engineers to develop digital marketing products,
- the ability to express yourself clearly and logically, both orally and in writing in English, with all members of our organization.
- excellence in a self-management, team environment, working pragmatically across geographies and with teams of different disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- input into the company’s data strategy,
- help building the new data lake and associated data pipelines,
- assist in designing and implementing the architecture for machine learning and scoring API development,
