We are looking for a Backend Engineer to help us expand our revolutionary web browser-based game: an idle RPG with blockchain elements. Join our core team to help us scale up & deliver new features!

About the project

Our game is a browser-based idle RPG where players compete to obtain the best possible equipment and face off in PvP battles. While PvE is already implemented and live, we are currently working on the PvP part of the game.

Collaborate closely with our Head of Engineering and CTO, both seasoned industry veterans. This is a perfect opportunity to learn new technologies, such as blockchain applications.

What you will work on

• Develop and maintain the Node.js API backend, infrastructure (GCP) and database (Postgres) that power the game.
• Optimize backend performance and scalability; help lay the foundation for future game development.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Help develop web3 (blockchain) integration for the game (we will assist with this).
• Conduct code reviews.

What you will need

• Great English communication skills (Polish is optional).
• Open-minded attitude and being able to work independently.
• Preferred 4-5 years of experience in Backend Development (Node.js REST API, standalone and serverless).
• Deep understanding of database architecture, especially using PostgreSQL.
• Some experience with DevOps (Docker containers, continuous deployment pipelines)
• Production experience with GitHub, e.g. Git, CI/CD setup.

Nice to haves

• Experience with Firebase/Firestore (or other document-based database).
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Supabase.
• Game industry experience.
• Interest in blockchain/web3 space.
• Passion for video games/gaming.

Recruitment process

Three-month trial period after which, if both sides are satisfied, we will offer a permanent contract.
