Job purpose
Part of the beqom engineering team, you will not only have the chance to participate in the development of software that contributes to the pay fairness of employees around the world but you will also put your technical skills to make it scalable, performant and bulletproof.
You will join a small and dynamic international team with the true possibility to make a change and contribute actively in the next version of the product being in connection with the different departments of beqom.
Duties and responsibilities
As a Technical Product Owner you will:
- Analyze and define the different needs of customers to build solutions
- Design and build advanced applications for the Android and iOS platforms
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
- Work closely with Solution Designers, Product Managers, Developers and UX/UI designer to ensure that the functional and technical designs are sound
- Write functional and technical specifications for new solution components to be delivered in future releases. Based on the specifications, create comprehensive user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Develop new features according to a defined roadmap in a timely manner, meeting our highest quality and performance standards
- Maintain applications, perform code and application upgrades
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
Must have
- Ability to communicate efficiently in English and in ways appropriate to those being addressed in the interest of building up and maintaining a balanced professional network (with e.g. Product Manager, Project leads, Programmers, Offshore resources, Testers, etc.)
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization (battery and bandwidth)
- Expertise on how to use Beta testing services for Android and/or iOS apps
- Expertise on working with different device types, including OS versions and screen sizes
- Very good knowledge on XCodeIDE - Swift programming language and/or Android Studio IDE - Kotlin programming language
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android and/or iOS apps to back-end services
- Very good knowledge of Agile Software Development
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
- Expertise on developing applications with high requirements on performance, scalability, robustness and quality
- Experience in writing unit tests (we don’t develop code without unit tests)
- Experience in writing technical documentation - yes Confluence is also documentation!
- Creative and solution-oriented with problem solver skills and positive personality (can-do attitude in combination with a collaborative personality)
- Enthusiasm for software innovation and new technologies
Nice to have:
- Expertise on different Microsoft Azure Platform Services, Redis, SSRS
- Experience with relational databases, schema design, SQL Server, T-SQL knowledge and ORM tools in the market (e.g., EF or NH)
- Experience with Jira, Confluence and GitHub
- Scrum mastering practices
