Data Analyst

We are searching for a Senior Data Analyst

For this role, we are looking for someone to join Nykredit – one of the banks BEC Poland works closely with.

Nykredit is both a bank and a mortgage provider owned by an association of customers. Being customer-owned, they are in a unique position to give something back to their customers when they are doing well. Together they can simply do more for their customers and for society.

This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw and you will join our Credit Risk Team. They are in charge of solution shaping, establishing, operating and maintaining solutions within the complex area of credit risk.

The position as Senior data analyst offers participation in a team that is still expanding and in a complex business domain heavily regulated by European legislation which gives a unique possibility to join a special team. Your interest in understanding and modeling financial credit risk concepts to support both analytical and operational use of data is key. Complying with professional standards around software development, data lineage and monitoring of data quality is of high importance. A strong collaboration with Danish business colleagues, datawarehouse experts and source system owners is also a big part of the job.

At Nykredit, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also have the flexibility to work remotely up to eight days per month. Your direct manager will be Jacek Jankowski.

Primary tasks and responsibilities include:

• Identifying and modeling source data
• Profiling data and developing algorithms using SQL
• Aligning design of solutions with solution architect
• Facilitate the production of business requirements and turn them into technical requirements with estimates for the team's backlog
• Represent Data Governance processes to put data elements under governance and establish data lineage
• Act as technical advisor for business side representatives
• Document solutions to make sure the team can maintain and operate in an efficient manner.
• Cooperation with other team members, who hold positions like Developers, Scrum master and other Data Analysts

To succeed you will have: 

• 8+ years experience with data warehouse design and modelling
• An educational background (university degree) related to the position advertised (Computer Technology/Mathematics/Physics/Finance/Banking)
• The skills to work in a structured way and understand the need to document our deliveries
• A curious mind with an open nature and desire to knowledge-share with others.
• Strong communication skills and being a team player is important
• You are proactive, self-driven and result-oriented.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Occasionally, there will be trips to Denmark

It’s nice-to-have:

• Previous work experience with the financial sector and the credit risk data domain
• Experience with software development and quality assurance processes
