What does it take to be successful during the recruitment process:

  • at least 5 years of experience in Java development (Looking for a Mid position? Check out our Java Mid Dev post)
  • previous experience in leading team and/or project
  • ability to support and mentor younger and less experienced members of the team
  • ability to plan development work, identify risks, coordinate dependencies and verify quality of final code/product
  • very good grasp of Java, Spring, Hibernate
  • good knowledge relational database
  • good understanding and experience in using git flow-like workflow
  • nice to have knowledge of Kubernetes and microservices architecture
  • reasonable understanding of various security aspects when developing and maintaining client-server application
  • at least basic practical linux skillset
  • professional fluency in English (at least B2, ideally C1)

Some important “soft skills” fitting our profile:

  • rational and efficient approach to development (understanding what works and how much it takes to implement it)
  • flexibility (sometimes the "best" or "right" solution does not fit for various reasons)
  • critical thinking (don't suggest solutions just because they are currently trending on the internet - test, assess, have own opinion)
  • being passionate (to remain up-to-date with the latest trends of mobile development)
  • ability to clearly and effectively convey your choices (why this and not that, what drives this particular choice, what are the expected results)
  • responsibility for own code and delivered features (internal testing, static analysis, self-checking)
  • proactive approach (look for solutions to problems before they appear or before the client asks, improve your own code)

Our recruitment process:

1. Introduction Call 📞

During this 15 minutes phone call, we will explain you details of this role and ask some questions about your experience. We will provide you with information about next steps of recruitment process.

2. Interview💻

We want to know you better, and we want to tell you a story about us. During this 30 minutes online meeting we will dive deep in your ways of thinking, motivation, your needs and our expectations for this role!

3. Technical call 💻

During this 90-120 minutes online meeting, we'll provide more context about the role you applied for and about standards we follow in Apzumi. You'll have the opportunity to tell us about your career and interest in this role. We may ask you some in-depth role-related questions, and we'll answer any pressing questions you may have
